The Sandhi Puja will take place from 04:13 to 05:01 PM. The Abhijit Muhurat is from 11:46 to 12:34 whereas the Brahma Muhurta is from 04:38 to 05:26.

On Ashtami, devotees should perform Mahasnan in the morning to purify oneself and put on new clothing. Install nine little pots, call upon Maa Durga’s nine Shaktis, and offer Maha Ashtami Puja to them. Nine young women who have never been married are also welcomed into homes to do Kanjak or Kanya/Kumari Puja because they are seen as divine representations of Maa Durga. These girls are lined up, and followers fasten a sacred dhaaga to their wrists. After washing their feet and applying tilak on their foreheads, the devotees present the girls with specially prepared prasad that includes puri, halva, and black grammes. Last but not least, Sandhi Puja is also practised on this day.
