Mother Skandmata is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri i.e. today. This incarnation of Maa Durga is a symbol of motherhood and is extremely kind and forgiving. She is the mother of Lord Kartikeya. He is riding on a lion carrying his child Kartikeya or Skanda in one hand. Skanda is the alternate name of the war god Kartikeya and Mother Skandamata holds Lord Skanda in her infant form in her hands hence she is worshiped as Skandamata. Navratri 2022 Day 5 Puja Vidhi, Samagri and Shubh Muhurat:

According to the Drik Panchang, the Brahma Muhurta will start at 4:37 am and end on September 30 at 5:25 am. Abhijeet Muhurta will start at 11:47 am and end at 12:35 pm. On this day, yellow flowers, Gangajal, Kumkum and Ghee are offered to Mother Skandmata. A special bhog consisting of a variety of dishes prepared from bananas is also offered to the goddess.
